Local News: From today (14), the bus priority lane law, implemented to relieve traffic congestion in Colombo and suburbs, will come into effect again.
SSP Indika Hapugoda, Director of Sri Lankan Police’s Traffic Control and Road Safety Division, said this would be in place on four major routes in Colombo.
Both police officers have been advised, accordingly, to take legal action against drivers who do not follow the priority lane law.
Police officers have been observed posted along lane markers this morning to ensure people are following the guidelines. In addition, some officers were seen displaying banners with slogans which reminded motorists to follow the rules of the lane. More News
