Local News Sri Lanka: Transport Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said that steps have been taken by the National Transport Commission (NTC) to introduce a mobile ‘Passenger App’ for passengers using the Sri Lanka Transport Board and private buses by next week.
He said the decision was taken in light of the Ministry’s complaints about the difficulties passengers face when using public transport.
The Minister advised the NTC to implement the App for managing passenger time and preventing high-speed accidents, wasting time due to slow running and preventing the passengers from being harassed.
“People don’t have to wait for busses with doubts after implementing the App and the passenger will be able to see their bus locations before they reach their destinations,” he said.
This Mobile App is about to finish. Minister Amaraweera added it will be introduced to the public by next week.
