Coronavirus Update: Twenty Seven people on Thursday (21) have tested positive for COVID-19 as of 11.58, says the Health Ministry.
On that basis, the number of patients with coronavirus detected Thursday has risen to 27. Government Information Department said 11 of these cases are navy staff, 15 are Dubai returnees who undergo mandatory quarantine at Giragama facility. The remaining positive case was classified as Kuwait returnee.
The total number of coronavirus infections in Sri Lanka thus exceeded 1.055.
Of these patients with coronavirus, 604 have made complete recoveries.
The Ministry of Health’s epidemiology unit says that at selected hospitals 442 active cases are currently under medical care.
The death toll from coronavirus in the country currently stands at 09.
