Business News: Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) Capt. Themiya Abeywickrama, Director-General yesterday stated that Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) is on par with international standards and is all geared towards the challenge of COVID-19.
He made those remarks yesterday during an inspection visit to the premises of the BIA together with senior CAASL officials and Health officials.
The Director-General said BIA was adopting the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) protocol for the prevention and control of novel coronavirus infection and some of the most advanced airports in the world. It was pointed out that today, BIA was all set to receive about 200 students from Canada , the United States and the UK.
Abeywickrama also commended the proactive steps taken by Airport Aviation Services (Lanka) Ltd., Chairman Rtd. to detect, build awareness and the the spread of the novel coronavirus inside the airport premises. General-Major. G.A. Chandrasiri and the staff at large.
