Local News: In line with the government’s decision to resume day-to-day activities in government institutions from that date, the Department of Immigration and Emigration will resume its operations from May 11.
Accordingly, the department will be opened to selected services on all working days except public holidays, a press release issued by the department stated.
Given the prevalent Covid-19 pandemic, the general public who uses the services must obey the health and other regulations taken from time to time, the Department told.
A customer wishing to access a service may book a date and time using the process indicated; if the customer fails to arrive at the time booked, the reservation will be cancelled.
Furthermore, the Department states that when the customer arrives at the Department to obtain the service, the identification number / recognition provided in the date and time reservation should be brought and submitted to the security staff upon arrival.
In addition, information for obtaining services should be collected by visiting the Department’s website, http:/www.immigration.gov.lk/, and customers should bring all the documents necessary to obtain the services, the Department stated.
