Local News: The Government plans to fully lift the curfew restrictions imposed by next month in view of the COVID-19 outbreak, a minister said yesterday.
On May 11, the government would partly relax certain curbs on public life. In light of the corona situation, specific guidelines are now being established for people to obey while carrying out their daily activities, once these restrictions are partially lifted on May 11.
A minister said the government is targeting complete removal of all restrictions by the beginning of June, based on the progress after May 11.
The government enforced curfew restrictions in March following the outbreak of corona cases. On March 11, the first national Sri Lankan infected with the disease was identified. As of today, there have been 835 incidents, most of which are sailors attached to the navy base of Welisara.
Most countries are now preparing to open up to the economic activity, hit by the corona crisis.
