Local News: Upon resolving the COVID-19 outbreak, the Ministry of Education released a set of recommendations to the Provincial Directors of Education on reopening the schools.
The ministry has therefore ordered all schools to be disinfected before reopening. Upon reopening campuses, further disinfection operations will be conducted under multiple phases.
It was noted however that schools will not be reopened for all grades and that studies will be resumed for grade 10 and above students based on their upcoming exams.

Meanwhile, Sanath Pujitha, Commissioner General of Examinations, has confirmed that re-examination of the results of the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination would be carried out after the reopening of the schools.
