Local News: Curfew in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttalam, Jaffna, and Kandy districts currently in force will continue until further notice because its identified as high-risk areas. The curfew now in place in all other districts will be lifted at 6:00 am tomorrow (April 06) and re-imposed at 2:00 pm until further notice.
In the meantime, movement between districts was totally prohibited, except for essential services. The Police warn, however, that those who misuse the frameworks placed for the smooth running of public services would be seriously dealt with.
The government has advised the public to follow the health advice and guidance as certain steps have been taken to ensure public safety from this deadly coronavirus.
Atalugama villages in Kalutara District and Akurana villages in Kandy District have been demarcated as isolated areas to prevent Coronavirus from spreading and no one is permitted to enter or leave these restricted zones.
