Local News: Minister of Information and Mass Media and Minister of Higher Education, Technology and Innovation Dr. Bandula Gunawardena requested graduates who did not receive their letters of appointment for the graduate trainee program to send their appeals through their respective divisional secretariats to the President Secretariat.
In addition to the appeal, the applicants will attach photocopies of the initial applications they sent by post or email, Dr. Gunawardena also said.
Dr. Gunawardena also noted that the assignments for trainees are in no way a political campaign.
Dr Gunawardena said that behind these appointments there is no political agenda and pointed out that all graduates are part of the new generation that should contribute to the economy of the country.
“This isn’t an effort to provide Pohottuwa supporters with work. We are giving appointments in the country to educated youth, without any party politics, “observed Dr. Gunawardena.
The Minister made those comments yesterday evening at a press conference held at the Government Department.
