Business News Update: In November 2019, Sri Lanka’s vehicle registrations dropped to 24,472 units, the lowest since June 2013, according to a study compiled by JB Securities.
This is a 21.7 percent decline compared to the November last year’s overall vehicle registration. Accordingly, last month’s motor car registrations dropped by 19 percent compared to this year’s October. Motorcycle registrations also dropped last month, compared to October this year, by 15.4 percent to 18,540 units.
The official says the recent presidential election is perceived to be the main reason for the vehicle registration slowdown.
