Local News Update: Sanath B. Pujitha, Commissioner General of Examinations, said that the Advanced Level Examination results will be recorrected until January 17. He said there was an agreement to guide the results to all schools.
Admission to universities was given under the new syllabus to 113,637 students and under the old syllabus to 67,489.
He added that some candidates require the exam certificate immediately, so the certificates can be collected from the Examinations Department starting this Monday. He noted that they also made arrangements to apply for the certificate within 48 hours from now on through the online system. He said that the INS program can be used if a student wants to send it overseas.
The Commissioner-General noted that the examination under two syllabuses took place this year. He said that the’ Z’ score was measured in two ways, independently under the two syllabuses, according to the University Grants Commission directives. He noted that an expert committee was formed before the UGC started the review, and that committee took a decision to independently measure the Z-Score.
