Local News Update: The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) yesterday (27) gazetted Maximum Retail Price (MRP) for three types of cement. By releasing an extraordinary notification of the gazette, the CAA said that the following cement categories will no longer be allowed to be sold above the gazetted MRP.
The CAA provided the appropriate gazette notification in compliance with the powers conferred on it by Section 20(5) of the 2003 Consumer Affairs Authority Act, No. 09.
- Cement manufactured in Sri Lanka Rs. 1,005.00
- Cement imported in bulk form & packeted in Sri Lanka Rs. 950.00
- Cement imported in packeted form Rs. 930.00
