Upgrade National Colleges of Education to State Universities

Local News Update: The Cabinet Paper presented by Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Dullas Alahapperuma to upgrade the Faculties of National Colleges of Education to State Universities, Information and Communication Technology, Higher Education, Technology and Innovation, and Co-Cabinet Speaker Bandula Gunawardana said.
According to Minister Gunawardana, steps were taken in line with Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s promise to make all school teachers graduate in his election manifesto. The current course available at the National Education Colleges is only three years in length and it will be four years for the planned degree programme.
