Local News Update: Yesterday (05) Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa had a gathering with ambassadors from the Middle East in Sri Lanka. The cordial meeting was held last morning at the official residence of the Prime Minister, Temple Trees.
The envoys have promised full support to Sri Lanka’s government and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. We have expressed interest in building cooperation in the cultural sphere as well as in the economic sphere.
Yesterday’s debate was joined by ambassadors from Bahrain, Palestine, Iraq, Egypt, Kuwait, Libya, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Prof. G.L. Peiris, Secretary to Prime Minister Gamini Senarath and Senior Advisor to Prime Minister Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Chairman of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) were also present at the meeting.
