Local News Update: Candidates who have not yet obtained their National Identity Cards (NICs) are asked to contact the Department of Registration of Persons (PRD) by dialing the hotline number 0115226125 or 0115226126. PRD Commissioner Viyani Gunathilaka said that by dialling the hotline number, these candidates can obtain details of their NICs.
According to him, through their respective directors and Pirivenas presidents, the PRD obtained 350,000 requests for identity cards from OL school candidates. The PRD has already sent all of them identity cards which applied on time. In addition, an authorized data sheet was given to certain applicants, which can be used at the examination as an identifier. Accordingly, either an identity card or an approved data sheet has been sent to all applicants who have so far applied for NICs.
Meanwhile, the candidates who have not yet received their identity cards from the PRD are undergoing a rapid service for issuing identity cards. Nonetheless, by dialing the hotline number 0115226125 or 0115226126, Gunathilaka said, candidates were advised to contact the PRD to explain their problems.
