Sports News from Sri Lanka: Bangladesh Under the age of 19 secured a 4-0 win over Sri Lanka under the age of 19 in the Under 19 Youth ODI series when they won yesterday’s fifth and final match with 50 runs in Chittagong.
With a brilliant 111 off 102 balls consisting of 3 fours and 5 sixes, Tawhid Hridoy starred for Bangladesh. Hridoy put on a century stand for the fourth wicket with Parvez Hossain who made 38 to carry Bangladesh off their 50 overs to 283-7.
With Ravindu Rashantha making a top score of 84 off 92 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes, Sri Lanka were dismissed for 233 in the 45th over. The third wicket was added by Rashantha and Mohammed Shamaz (40).
The series ‘ first match ended in no-result and the remaining four were won by Bangladesh.
Tawhid Hridoy was Bangladesh’s cornerstone under the 19’s title, playing in the 4 matches for 3 centuries and a half.
