Development News from Sri Lanka: A new Polpithigama Zone Police Station was opened in Pansiyagama with the participation of Governor Peshala Jayaratne of the North Eastern Province recently. This was the project’s 498th Police Station to set up 600 Police Stations in Sri Lanka to provide an efficient and effective service.
The people of this region faced the difficulty of having to travel at least 30 km to Polpithigima Police Station or visit Wariyapola, Gorakaela or Galewala Police Station, and putting an end to this struggle, the new Police Station provides an excellent service with an Administrative Division, Crime Division and Minor Complaints, Division.
A plaque was unveiled by Governor Peshala Jayaratne of the North Eastern Province.
A number of Buddhist monks from the city, Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in North Central Province Nandana Munasinghe and several others including Upul Chandana Abeysinghe and Buddhika Siriwardane attended the event along with Senior Media Manager Dharmasri Bandara Ekanayake, President Secretariat.
