Business News from Sri Lanka: One of Sri Lanka’s premier Management Quiz Programmes, the CMI Quiz Challenge – 2019, organized by the Charted Management Institute (CMI), will be held in Colombo on October 23, under the guidance of CMI Senior Vice President Kaushal Rajapaksa.
The CMI which was founded in 1947 as a British Institute of Management, was later renamed as Charted Management Institute. The CMI was thereafter awarded the Royal Charter.
The main objective of holding this annual Quiz Challenge which has been conducted by CMI since 2014, is to enhance the professional standards of Sri Lankan Managers and related executive officials attached to public and private sector organizations and also to develop their skills as well as competences.
According to the rules and regulations, 40 teams will take part in the Quiz Competition and each team will consist of five members. The teams could be registered in the fields of Banking, Finance, and Insurance, Telecom and IT, Manufacturing, Apparel and Textile, FMCG and Retails, Food and Beverage, Hospitality and Leisure and many other special categories.
CMI Quiz, Project Chairman Rohitha Amarapala said that CMI Sri Lanka is a well recognized and respected professional body on the island.
He said the Quiz would be structured on Management and Leadership, Business Management, Corporate Governance, General knowledge, Current Affairs, and Sports. According to CMI, the knowledge partners of the forthcoming event are the KPMG Sri Lanka, the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura and the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon.
The winners of the Quiz Challenge 2019 will be presented with a cash award of Rs. 100,000 while the first runners up and the second runner up will receive Rs 60,000 and Rs. 40,000 respectively.
Trophies, medals, and certificates will be presented to eight other sectors.
