Local News from Sri Lanka: The Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) informs all passengers to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before their flight’s departure. This is due to a slight flooding condition near the BIA premises due to the Dandugam Oya overflow.
A spokesman for the BIA Meteorology Department stated that the BIA and its surrounding area received a rainfall of 272,3 mm over the past 24 hours ending at 8:30 a.m. today (24). However, the BIA airport operations are normally conducted without interruption despite heavy rains.
