Development News from Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), Sri Lanka’s major provider of telecommunications services, is happy to announce its epic achievement in the technological infrastructure field with the utmost devotion and commitment of the entire SLT family. The’ Lotus Tower–Multi functional TV and Telecommunications Tower’ is expected to be one of Sri Lanka’s major landmarks and an epitome of the economy.
Just a few years ago, SLT partnered with China National Electronics Import and Export Corporation, the project’s primary contractor, and signed a MoU with TRCSL to develop ICT alternatives for this splendid architectural construction.
The time has come to present SLT’s accomplishment of this mammoth undertaking. Built with fiber optic cables, the infrastructure is fully fitted with the required telecommunications equipment that is supported in two respects to ensure zero downtime incidences. To further elaborate, if one line turns out to be defective, the second line would definitely act as the back-up, as the fiber optic cables installed are provided to serve as a resilient network. All technological services and devices will therefore operate smoothly even without a slight disruption.
The Lotus Tower’s outstanding and complex fiber optic telecommunications infrastructure can be divided into two primary components. SLT concentrated on three significant deliveries under the’ Basic Development of Telecommunications Infrastructure.’ First, this advanced telecommunications infrastructure can simultaneously meet all the telecommunications requirements of enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises and consumers. Second, other telecommunications service providers across the nation can also run their network and service systems on SLT’s built-in infrastructure. Third, Sri Lanka’s’ Digital TV Tower’ is anticipated to be the Lotus Tower in the long run.
Considering the upcoming demands of digital TV broadcasters, SLT has already set out the desirable infrastructural telecommunications routes from their respective control centers to transport content to’ Lotus Tower.
‘This sophisticated infrastructure’s second primary segment is implemented as’ Extra Light Voltage Solution / Weak Current System.’ SLT has partnered with the primary contractor of the Lotus Tower project to create ICT Solutions for 14 inner telephone sub-systems, LAN–WAN and IPTV, Information Publishing, Building Management, Access Control, Video Surveillance and Control, Public Addressing, Walkie-Talkie (wireless intercom), Wireless Patrolling, Energy Management, Fire Detection and Alarming, Smart VIP Solutions. Excited Sri Lankans can experience, witness and enjoy all meticulously arranged equipment supplied solely by the domestic telecommunications partner of Sri Lanka, SLT, with the grand opening of the’ Lotus Tower’ on September 16, 2019.
