Local News from Sri Lanka: Priority will be provided to duty-free shop stalls for Jaffna products at Palali Airport, Petroleum Resources and Civil Aviation Minister Arjuna Ranatunge said in Jaffna. Minister Ranatunge visited Palali Airport with a group of 80 representatives to see the project.
He later had a discussion with TNA MPs and some other representatives at the Jaffna Kachcheri. In that debate, he indicated that priority should be given to individuals from the Northern Province in terms of jobs possibilities. The airport’s first stage development work is planned to finish on October 10, while flight services are planned to start on October 15.
