Business News from Sri Lanka: The World Surfing League Qualifying Series 3000, also known as So Sri Lanka Pro 2019, is scheduled to take place at Arugam Bay’s World Class Point Break from September 25th to 29th of this month, attended by over 70 surfers from 18 countries. Recently at the Olympic house, Colombo 07 in this regard, a press conference was held to raise awareness among the media and the public about the event to be held.
This is seen as an case that will increase the tourism industry as well as further encourage surfing as a sport in Sri Lanka. Under Hon’s patronage, the press conference was held. Minister of Tourism Development, Wildlife & Christian Religious Affairs, John Amaratunga, at a distinguished meeting with Mr. Kishu Gomes, Chairman of the Sri Lankan Tourism Promotion Bureau, Mr. Steve Robertson, Asia Tour Manager, World Surf League, Mr. Hiran Ukwatte, Sri Lankan Surfing Federation Chairman, Mr. Gayan Peiris, Sri Lankan Airlines Manager, Corporate Events, and Mr. P.T Weerasinghe, Sri Lanka Sportreizen Chairman.
While entries are still being obtained, the final list has been joined by almost 70 surfers from 18 countries. This remarkable roster involves nations such as Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Belgium, USA, Indonesia, Brazil, Peru, Canada, Argentina, France, South Africa, Great Britain, and Chile.
