Local News from Sri Lanka: This morning, the Railway Control Room said, a new train service called Sri Devi was commissioned from Colombo Fort to Kankesanthurai (KKS). From today the train will be in daily service. The train leaves Colombo Fort Railway Station at 3:55 p.m. and is planned to reach KKS at 11:14 p.m. The same train leaves KKS at 3:45 p.m. and reaches Colombo Fort at 10:24 p.m.
A Control Room official said the train, originally operated up to Vavuniya, had been extended to KKS and Christened Sri Devi. The official said two air-conditioned coaches had been added to the train except for the ordinary compartments.
