Local News from Sri Lanka: The national development program’ Rata Wenuwen Ekata Sitimu’ (Let’s Stand Together for the Country) introduced under President Maithripala Sirisena’s directives with the objective of offering individuals with an effective and satisfactory service to solve their unresolved problems will be introduced in 04 districts in the next two months.
The program will, therefore, be launched in the district of Badulla from September 23 to 28, while it will be held in the district of Anuradhapura from October 04 to 09, in the district of Hambantota from October 10 to 14 and in the district of Colombo from October 16 to 21.
Under the leadership of the President, the National Development Program ‘ Rata Wenuwen Ekata Sitimu’ (Let’s Stand Together for the Country) began in February 2019 and over the past 07 months the program was launched in the districts of Puttalam, Batticaloa, Ampara, Mullaitivu, Monaragala, Gampaha and Jaffna, spending more than Rs.1200 million on this.
This was disclosed in the latest debate held at the President’s Office chaired by the President.
Measures will also be taken to speed up domestic drug prevention, chronic kidney disease prevention, environmental protection, domestic food manufacturing, Gramashakthi, SMART Sri Lanka, empowering people with disabilities and seniors.
The Secretary pointed out that it was feasible to provide alternatives to long-term problems encountered by the individuals through the Ekata Sitimu Program, to accelerate different development initiatives and to launch fresh ones.
In order to reinforce the economy in rural regions, attention was drawn to beginning tiny scale development operations. The President also stressed the significance of diligently pursuing development operations despite government servants ‘ political affiliations.
The debate was attended by ministry secretaries, district secretaries, division secretaries, and several other government officials.
