Development News from Sri Lanka: In the first half of this year, Lakdiva Engineering Company engaged in the repair and modernization of old buses has gained significant revenues. It produced a profit of Rs 35 million by repairing 107 buses in the January-August era. This was disclosed in the company’s progress report, which was published at the opening of the emission testing center of Lakdiva Engineering Company, the Transport Ministry said.
Lakdiva Engineering Company is a state-owned company that is part of the Transport Ministry. The Emission Testing Center was opened by Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Arjuna Ranatunga.
Minister of Transport Arjuna Ranatunga said the company had only repaired about seven buses a month in the past. Now for a month, 15 buses are being repaired. And this is expected to rise to 20 per month.
