Vehicle News from Sri Lanka: The new Macan Turbo took the top spot with instant impact in the Porsche compact SUV model range. In this widely redesigned top model, the new 2.9-liter, six-cylinder biturbo motor delivers 324 kW (440 hp; combined fuel consumption 9.8 l/100 km; total CO2 emissions 224 g / km), 10% more energy output than its predecessor with 20% less displacement.
This vehicle can get from a standing beginning to 100 km / h in 4.3 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package–three tenths quicker than before. The top speed of the vehicle is 270 km / h (plus 4 km / h). Deceleration has also been enhanced: as part of the optimized chassis, the fresh Macan Turbo comes with the strong ex-works Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSCB).
Outside, the Macan Turbo is characterized by the updated model generation styling characteristics. Due to distinctive accents like the Turbo-specific front apron and the fixed roof spoiler with its double-wing design, the fresh top model also lays itself apart. The enhanced interior of the Macan, including adaptive 18-way sports seats and a BOSE ® Surround Sound system, benefits drivers and passengers alike.
The 2.9-liter engine of the latest Macan Turbo, which Porsche already uses in its Cayenne and Panamera models, is a state-of – the-art engine in what is known as the main turbo design. In the V of the cylinders, both exhaust turbochargers were arranged. For highly efficient combustion, the cooled exhaust manifold was incorporated into the cylinder head.
The brief exhaust routes between the chambers of combustion and the turbochargers allow for fast energy build-up and a particularly spontaneous reaction. The engine provides 29 kW (40 hp) more than the predecessor model’s 3.6-liter six-cylinder turbo and a peak torque of 550 Nm between 1,800 and 5,600 rpm.
The seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox and Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive transmission provides power transmission. The con-sumption of NEDC is 9.8 l/100 km long.
To suit the outstanding driving dynamics, the fresh Macan Turbo comes with the Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSCB). These innovative, high-performance brakes are exclusive to Porsche and give quicker reaction, less wear and up to 90% less brake dust compared to standard cast iron brakes with a tungsten carbide layer on the disks.
The high-gloss brake disks and white painted brake calipers are characteristic of PSCB and are now accessible for all other Macan models as an optional addition. For further rise in dynamics, optional height-adjustable air suspension with optimized rolling pistons and fresh hydraulic shock absorber, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB). The fresh Macan Turbo 20-inch wheels are coming as normal.
Thanks to the exclusive front apron, with three big air intakes and high-level front lights, as well as conventional LED headlights including the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), the fresh Macan Turbo shows its range-leading status. This top model stands out from the side with 20-inch Macan Turbo wheels, side skirts from Sport Design and body-colored exterior mirrors from Sport Design.
Typical for the Turbo model is the specially built fixed roof spoiler with its dual-wing structure. The normal equipped sports exhaust system can be recognized through its distinctive, silver twin tailpipes.
The Macan Turbo, the range’s fresh flagship model, provides high-quality machinery in particular. Standard characteristics include adaptive sports seats with soft leather upholstery, electrical 18-way adjustment and a convenience memory package.
The Alcantara roof lining and the brushed aluminum interior package complete the high-quality ambience.
As an alternative for sporty riders, the heated GT sports steering wheel, familiar from the 911, is accessible.
Porsche Communication Management (PCM) is fully networked as standard with a 10.9-inch full HD touchscreen and connected to a 14-loudspeaker BOSE ® Surround Sound system with a total output of 665 watts. It involves real-time traffic information internet navigation and intelligent voice control.
Other normal characteristics include Por-sche Connect Plus, which includes an LTE phone module, an embedded SIM card and an internal SIM card slot, as well as a Wi-Fi hotspot and many Porsche Connect facilities.
The list of choices now involves a smartphone cradle for all Macan models with Qi standard inductive charging. There is also a heated windscreen, an ionizer to enhance the air quality of the interior and the new traffic jam assistant, including adaptive cruise control.
The system enables the driver to navigate in traffic jams and slow-moving traffic as well as being able to accelerate and brake semi-automatically up to 60 km / h.
