Business News from Sri Lanka: The 2019 SLAYS Conference “Research for Impact” organized by the Sri Lankan Academy of Young Scientists (SLAYS) will take place in Colombo in October. Professional global and national researchers will share their experiences with local young researchers in this forum.
The conference’s target audience is early / mid-career researchers from learners of academia and business as well as postgraduate research. This will be a excellent chance for researchers from Sri Lanka to work together with global specialists and network with each other. The conference will also provide a platform for our young researchers to show the public and the remainder of the science globe their research work.
One of the conference’s main highlights is the MPhil / PhD students ‘ “3-minute research presentation competition-3MT ®,” which is taking place in Sri Lanka for the third time. This event takes place under the guidance of Queensland University, Australia, the 3MT ® innovator and developer.
SLAYS effectively performed this contest in 2017 and 2018, drawing much attention from early and mid-career researchers from a variety of fields. We plan to perform the event on an even bigger scale this year.
The 3MT competition’s preliminary rounds will take place at the National Science Foundation on September 17-18. For the final round, the judges who are known Sri Lankan researchers from various areas will select 10 best presentations.
The grand finale will take place on the same day of the annual meeting in October, in Colombo. The champion will receive an appealing $1,000 money award.
