For critical discussions under the theme of’ Evolving Military Excellence in Contemporary Security Landscape,’ the annual defense meeting will bring together a worldwide network of defense partners to formulate a collective and assertive strategy to repelling safety threats to countries.
Prominent domestic and foreign scholars, think tank heads, and diplomats from around the world will contribute to optimizing the discussion and enriching two-day deliberations. This renowned forum is a great annual event that last year hosted more than 800 dignitaries including 102 delegates from more than 54 nations. Colombo Defense Seminar 2019 organizers strive for wider global involvement and expect to encourage a strict intellectual discourse on international security.
Sri Lankan Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva welcomed the visitors and one of South Asia’s leading strategic analysts, Nitin A Gokhale, delivered the keynote address at the opening meeting.
The meeting was attended by Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ravinatha Ariyasinghe and several public officials, Chief of Defense Staff, tri-force commanders, former commanders and senior army officers.
