Business News from Sri Lanka: With effect from 1 August 2019, SimCentric Technologies has appointed Haridhu Abeygoonaratne as Managing Director of the company. With this fresh appointment, Abeygoonaratne will supervise SimCentric Technologies, a worldwide leader in advanced software simulation solutions, business strategy and activities.
The move comes as part of the succession plan of the company with Romesh Ranawana stepping down from the position of CEO and Chief Technical Officer. Since its inception, Dr. Ranawana has been at the helm of SimCentric Technologies and was a co-founder of the company along with Dr. Adam Easton, who operates outside the UK.
Speaking of the new appointment, Dr. Adam Easton, Chairman –SimCentric Technologies said, “Being a member of the SimCentric family from its inception, I firmly believe that Haridhu is ready to take on the challenges of this new appointment and take our company to a higher level. I would also like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to Romesh for a decade of partnership and for the extraordinary vision and dedication that has driven the success of SimCentric over the past 10 years. “Before taking up this new appointment, Abeygoonaratne served as SimCentric Technologies ‘ General Manager and Chief Operating Officer. He supervised the company’s development and quality assurance, project management, and general management operations on both local and overseas fronts.
Abeygoonaratne serves as a board member of the Sri Lankan Software and Service Companies Association (SLASSCOM) and has also been actively involved with Sri Lanka’s Export Development Board as a member of the ICT / BPM Sector Advisory Committee. Abeygoonaratne also holds a Bachelor of Computer Science in the field of Software Development from Deakin University, Australia, with professional qualifications in Project Management from the Project Management Institute, USA.
