Development News from Sri Lanka: Yesterday (20) President Maithripala Sirisena opened the’ Mehewara Piyasa ‘ building developed at the Labor Department with the aim of offering the public with productive and effective service under one roof.
This building’s construction works began in 2009 and it was constructed at a price of Rs. 8500 million. This is presently owned by the government’s biggest and tallest construction, and this 32-story building features modern facilities.
The Ministry of Labor, the Department of Labor and the Trust Fund Board of Employees are situated here and several parts of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka as well as the Department of Inland Revenue have also been created at the facility, 5-story vehicle parks and common facilities have also been set up in the new construction for the public’s advantage.
After unveiling the plaque, the President opened the building and made an observational tour of it.
