Anura Kumara Dissanayake was nominated as the JVP presidential candidate

Local News from Sri Lanka: Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake was nominated as the’ National People’s Power’ presidential candidate led by the JVP. This was announced formally at this afternoon’s Galle Face Green rally (18).
28 other political and civil organizations were to nominate a candidate for the rally under the leadership of the JVP. This is the first time a presidential candidate has been nominated by the JVP in 20 years.
Under the theme let’s rise and unite, the event called “Peraliye Maha Raliya” is taking place.
