Development News from Sri Lanka: The Swiss government has agreed to support the Sri Lankan solar energy industry. That was stated when Hanspeter Mock, Ambassador of Switzerland to Colombo, called Minister Ravi Karunanayake.
He noted that Switzerland’s investors will be encouraged to invest in the island nation’s solar power industry. The Ministry of Power has attracted the attention of the Minister and the Ambassador to the Net Plus and Net Metering systems being introduced.
The Ambassador valued the progress made by Sri Lanka in the country’s electrification relative to other nations in the region. He also pointed out that the Swiss government is interested in generating wind power.
