SriLankan Airlines, Sri Lankan’s National Carrier and Oneworld alliance member, organized a familirization tour for a group of journalists representing China’s leading newspaper. China is one of Sri Lanka’s main airline markets and one of Sri Lanka’s top tourism feeder markets, the airline has steered numerous measures to maintain Sri Lanka’s attractiveness as a desired destination among Chinese travelers, post-Easter.
The touring reporters toured cultural sites such as Dambulla’s Golden Temple, Buddha’s Tooth Temple in Kandy, Sigiriya’s Lion Fortress, and Galle’s Dutch Fort, the much-acclaimed UNESCO World Heritage sites.
The journey included a visit to Pinnawala’s elephant orphanage, Minneriya National Park, lush tea gardens in the central mountains, and a Colombo city tour. While enjoying Sri Lanka’s scenic beauty and people’s hospitality, they could see the nation returning to normal.
