In the second year in a row, the Export Development Board of Sri Lanka (EDB) organized a Sri Lankan pavilion for the 2019 edition. Nine Sri Lankan manufacturers were present at Texworld / Apparel Sourcing, Home Textile Sourcing, held last week at New York City, USA. The event was attended by Ashok Garments, Lanka Jumeirah, Kash Garments, Nor Lanka Manufacturing, Queen’s Workwear, Sarasavi Exports, RM Holding and Stylish Garments.
Co-located with Texworld USA, Apparel Sourcing USA welcomed exhibitors in over 21 product organizations and focused on sustainability as the focus.
The event was attended by 843 exhibitors from 20 nations while the exhibition was attended by more than 5000 tourists in July 2019. Too many businesses from the United States and other nations in Sri Lanka had business investigations.
Texworld USA has 17 product categories ranging from knits and functional textiles and cotton to denim and more, which is one of the top displays for textiles and clothing sourcing.
Over the years, the US was the leading purchaser of Sri Lankan exports and this year was still a significant purchaser.
A one-day conference was held in Berlin (Germany) in order to inform participants about sustainable methods and got Fashion support with open arms as the summer edition of Texworld United States this very year. In January 2020 will take place the next Texworld / Apparel Source USA. The activities are Texworld / Apparel Sourcing Paris, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics in September 2019, as well the African Fashion and Sourcing Week, which will take place in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, on November 2019.
