In its 2019 Asian Banking and Finance Awards, the Commercial Bank of Ceylon continued the winning row of its year, receiving five prizes, two in the category “Wholesale Banking Awards,” two in the category ‘ Retail Banking Awards’ and one in the category ‘ Business & Investments Banking Awards.’
The Bank was awarded’ Bank of the Year, Domestic Technology and Operations, Sri Lanka,’ and’ Bank of the Year, Sri Lanka’ in the category of Wholesale Banking Awards, and won awards for’ Sri Lanka’s Mobile Banking Initiative and’ The New Year’s Consumer Lender’ in the category of Retail Banking prizes. The Commercial Bank got a’ Sri Lanka debt deal for the achievement of its listed debenture edition of July 2018 that raised Rs 10 billion in the category of’ Corporate & Investment Banking Awards ‘ Awards.
A successful’ Sri Lanka ‘ Dominion’s Commerce Bank as the’ Domestic Technology,’ a certificate that enables the Bank’s payment systems to be protected against infringement and theft, has been ascribed to its accomplishments in accordance with PCI DSS standards 3.2.1.
The Commercial Bank is the only bank in Sri Lanka to be PCI DSS accredited 3.2.1, the latest in this area.
The bank’s title “Sri Lanka, Southern Trade Finance Bank of the Year” has been granted for its initiative of expanding the company and building powerful customer relations, improving the norms of service and providing creative alternatives through its Corporate Banking Trade Finance activities. Furthermore, the Bank has started a fresh business development unit to aggressively establish fresh links.
Moreover, as a member of the International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) Global Trade Finance Program and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), it has been possible for the Commercial Bank to achieve better pricing by extending the ability of the Bank based on the AAA loan rates. Out of 15 specified currencies, Nostro Banking covers more than 38 banks.
The winner of the “Domestic Trade Finance Bank of the Year” prize was all of these variables.
In the category of retail banking awards, the Bank received’ Flash’ –Sri Lanka’s first completely digital bank account’ with the’ Mobile Banking Initiative of the Year ‘ award, all submissions were evaluated by an eminent sector expert panel.
More than 300 senior managers attended the event at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore. Over 200 Asian banks have earned prizes from 40 nations.
