Honor unveiled another ultra-affordable phone called Play 8 today, but don’t make a mistake-it’s not completely new, it’s a Chinese market rebadged Honor 8S. It has one camera on the back and a fundamental top panel, powered by the Helio A22 chipset, but comes with a very aggressive price tag for $120 Approximately Rs.21,360/-
The screen is an LCD of 5.71 “with somewhat dense bezels on top and a water drop notch. The resolution is HD+ and 19:9 is the precise proportion. The camera on the back is equipped with a 13 MP sensor and a f/1.8 lens with some nice characteristics such as HDR. The front-facing snapper pictures 5 MP and has a lens of f/2.2. Honor utilizes the latter to compensate for the absence of a fingerprint scanner with the Android face-unlocking system.
The Honor Play 8 has 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card by up to 512 GB. The phone actually has a triple slot so the dual SIM feature (complete with Dual 4 G) won’t cost you. The phone runs EMUI 9.0 and packs in a 3,020 mAh battery based on Android Pie. Sadly you get the dated microUSB port and no support for quick charging, but at this price point, that’s what you can expect.
In cooperation with D.Phone, a Chinese smartphone retailer, Honor announced the Play 8, but you can also buy it at Vmall, TMall, JD and Suning, among others.
