Therefore, a number of development projects were completed including several major housing projects for the plantation community, the lowest income groups and people in the north and east. 600,000 people received Samurdhi benefits while a number of loans were awarded to Enterprise Sri Lanka. In rural regions under the Gamperaliya program, a rapid development program was initiated. By this September, I have directed ministers and parliamentarians to finish all development initiatives, “said Prime Minister Wickremesinghe.
“We could not even pay back the loans that the previous regime had taken over the country for various projects.
