LAUGFS Eco Sri, a pioneer in Sri Lankan air quality management, endorsed the Wilpattu Nature Reserve’s reforestation attempts in north-eastern Sri Lanka, marking this year’s World Environment Day. LAUGFS Eco Sri’s dedication to protecting and maintaining the environment for future generations was yet another significant project.
This initiative was created possible by the Sri Lankan Army’s cooperation with the domestic tree planting project ‘ Thuruliya Wenuwen Api.’ The attempts to reforest Wilpattu were marked by a formal ceremony under the governance of Major General Senerath Bandara, Commander of the 54th Division, with Major General Kumudu Perera, Headquarters of the Wanni Security Force, as the principal guest of the case.
Eco Sri launched a drive earlier this year to collect 4000 plants among its Vehicle Emissions Testing centers, actively encouraging its staff, clients and local communities to participate in this project.
As a consequence, the LAUGFS Eco Sri Marketing and Project Teams led by Saliya Dissanayake, Head of Operations at the case held on World Environment Day, handed over 4000 saplings of different species to the’ Thuruliya Wenuwen Api ‘ program.
LAUGFS Eco Sri, part of the diverse LAUGFS Holdings conglomerate, is an ISO 9001 accredited corporation that provides state-of-the-art car emission testing facilities.
