Due to rain, a record third World Cup match was dropped as Bangladesh’s game against Sri Lanka was called off without bowling a ball.
It was another washout and another point obtained for Sri Lanka as they moved nearer to the top four of the rankings mainly by not displaying their abilities on the playground, but by remaining indoors owing to the constant rain that has become part of the continuing ICC Cricket World Cup package. And it occurred because of no fault of theirs.
Sri Lanka’s match against Pakistan was also wiped out at Bristol on 7 June.
